of humans has been able to do with the terrain and the beliefs built off of the fauna and flora of that area. Geography molds everything around us and still does to the day, but it originally starts with how humans have inhabited the world.
The first humans were focused on two things when they decided where to go.
The two things that humans considered were food supply and shelter. Many humans started to scatter across the globe for the sole of following wild game migration patterns and areas where crops would grow better. People look for better and more fruitful places to move to and that is what caused most of the migration between continents that happened. The Bering Strait is a great example for how humans follow food. The Bering Strait is a strait where a land bridge was once formed in between Russia and Alaska. Wild game that the humans hunted migrated across this land bridge down into North America. This caused the humans who lived off this game to then follow their food supply into North America where food was more plentiful. The action of these humans crossing over into North America caused the Americas to then have indigenous people on them. People have also moved out of colder area to more temperate areas because crops wouldn’t grow in the original colder climate. People have also migrated to different areas to try and find shelters. Many humans in older times lived in the mountains because a cave is a quick and easy home to set up in. Caves were valued even more because they were secure and sturdy shelters. Humans were always looking for these natural shelters to move into seeing as how they were easily accessible. Humans didn’t just look for natural homes though they would also migrate if there
were easily accessible building materials they could work with. With human population increasing the need for space increased sending more people into previously undiscovered territory and since humans want the least resistance, they normally choose areas with building supplies handy. A good example of how humans flock to easily accessible materials is the ways Amazonians use the natural plant-life to build houses. Many houses are made of bamboo post seeing as how there is so much of it and it is fairly light. Also there are so many leafy trees that they can easily use banana or palm leaves to weave a roof for their homes. Since these materials are so abundant and light it is easy for humans to get to.
