The letter explains a child writing to her parents telling them about the struggles she goes through day, but still tries to add positives things to try not to worry them. Children are now being seen as necessaties, like they do matter. All the many different talents and abilities they have are now being recognized. For example, a 12 year old boy began his singing career in walmart by yodeling. Now, he is coming out with his own songs and becoming a big figure in the public eye. In 1845 children were only used for slave type work. Adults abused and used children to do the dirty work and is often led to many deaths that could've been prevented in children. For example, all the different jobs that cuase many children to be killed daily, is not the correct work for children. It is a good thing to have children work and learn good work ethic, but if those jobs are putting their lives in danger daily, they shouldn't be something that children are doing.
