English spoken to day is way better then the English spoken back then. Each generation change over the years, so the language spoken back in the 18th century is way different then the English we use now. I think because in the old generation people use to spell and write words backwards and differently from the way things are now. In the old days they didn't have all the new technology that we have today they had type writers, and other kind of things. Unlike the technology that we have today. The English language was affected by many things. English is constantly changing so I don't think we should even bother trying to use " standard" English. New writing technologies include the printing press and computers, have radically changed the way people speak and write English. I think that the English from the 18th century was when people spelled things differently and wrote things differently from the English spoken today.
