But few pieces remain the same from the original structure, including round arches, the burial home, and the sections designating where people are buried based off of their interests, and the columns of the undercroft, or the original monks’ quarters. There have been nine-teen members of the royalty family that have been buried here. Seventeen members of the royalty family have gotten married here which would be a huge honor. All of which are buried together in the same room in very close proximity of each other. Over three thousand others have been buried in their very own place in the palace including benedictine monks, builders of the cathedral and others associated with it. The Westminster Abbey had had a couple of weird uses such as being used as a royal residence, an armory, a treasury, a records office, and even a prison. The kingdom has been very happy with how the outside of the building looks and not wanting or needing to make many changes. The Westminster has not changed how it looks very much since the thirteenth century, but what has been changed a couple of times is the material it is constructed of.
