Odysseus has the many traits that a hero possesses. One of the traits he contains is cleverness. One of the times that odysseus showed cleverness was when Odysseus and his crew were searching for their home and they came upon an island with Cyclops. When they were captured, Odysseus hid his men under the rams to get
out without getting caught by the Cyclops. Another heroic trait Odysseus possesses is selflessness. Odysseus always put his shipmates first. When Odysseus and his crew hid under the rams trying to escape from the Cyclops, he made sure to hide his men before himself. Also, when his men were captured and turned into pigs by the enchantress Circe, Odysseus did not hesitate to save them even when he could have gotten away which shows a true hero.
Being a hero also means being courageous. I believe that Odysseus is courageous and brave. Odysseus was not afraid to face challenges and he tried his best to get through them. One example is when they first came to the island of Cyclops, Odysseus wanted to explore the island and find out if the Cyclops could help them. It was also courageous when Odysseus went to save his men from Circe when she turned them into pigs. Overall, Odysseus always stayed courageous even after twenty years of searching for his home and all the challenges he faced over the time he was gone and he never gave up.
