How Is Romeo And Juliet Determined

In the play Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare the main character Romeo has various traits that affected the plot of the play. Romeo is a young teenage boy that is confused with his feelings and believes he is in love with the teenage girl he barely met named Juliet. The play takes place in Verona, Italy in the late 1500’s. Romeo is identified as one of the world’s greatest lovers. Overall, Romeo was determined and sneaky and these traits affected the plot of the story greatly. To begin with, Romeo is analyzed as being determined because he does not give up to be with Juliet even when he could get hurt. For instance, when Romeo was talking to Juliet about the guards finding him he stated: “And but thou love me, let them find me here. My life were better ended by their hate than death prorogued wanting of thy love.” (2.2.76-78). Since, he loves Juliet so much, he is willing to lose his life to stay with her. Another example of Romeo being determined is in Act 3, Scene 3 when Romeo was banished from Verona he still managed to spend the night at Juliet’s. This example shows that even when he has obstacles in the way he will always find a way to be with Juliet.
For example, when Juliet asked Romeo how he was able to get to her room without anyone noticing he said: “With loves light wings did I o’erperch these walls, for stony limits cannot hold love out. “ (2.2.66-67). This proves that he is able to sneak into places with tight security and be unseen. Another example is in Act 2, Scene 6 when Romeo came up with a plan to be married with Juliet without anyone knowing about it. This shows that Romeo has a mind that is capable of doing very sneaky things when it comes to being with
