How Jimmy Butler Influenced Me
Basketball and baseball are the greatest things to ever happen to me. There is not one day where I do not enjoy shooting hoops or hitting home runs. People always say that I should be playing baseball because of how fit and athletic I am, so I tried it out, and it turned out I was pretty good. For basketball it was a different story. People have said that I was way too short, but my first game I scored about twenty points and everyone kept quiet. I’m now 5 ft 5, 117 lbs, and in middle school, so I have grown to be average height. There is also something very weird about me. When I was born I had bright blond hair with blue eyes, but now I have dark brown hair with hazel eyes. Not to add, but I was also supposed to be a girl. I turned out to …show more content…
My dad, Jimmy Butler, Eric Berry, and Bo Jackson. My dad influences me because he is the most hardworking human being I know, and he would do anything for me. Jimmy Butler influences me because he has one of the most inspirational stories I have ever heard. Jimmy Butler was kicked out of his house in high school by his own mom and had to live on the streets. Luckily a family took him in during his senior year. Jimmy butler only got one college offer, and that college was Marquette. Jimmie first two years at college were very rough. He suffered injuries and only averaged about six points a game. But after a strong offseason Jimmy came back averaging over twenty points a game and got all of his talent back. Jimmy then declared for the NBA draft in 2011 and got selected by the Bulls. Ever since, Jimmy Butler has been an all star for three years in a row, and he won't stop. Eric Berry is an NFL cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs. On September 13, 2015, Eric berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. It caused him to miss the whole season, but after a strong fight Berry beat cancer. The very next season Eric Berry had one of his best seasons yet, earning him a spot on the Pro Bowl team, which is basically the all star game but for the NFL. Not lonely me, but other NFL players look up to Eric Berry. Berry will always motivate me to be a better …show more content…
there are many things we do that make us all connect. Most, if not all of my friends play basketball, so whenever we have free time we always go to a park and ball out. Between all of us, I probably could take anyone on a 1v1, but to decide that we always play games. Not only do we play basketball in the real world, but we also play on the Xbox. NBA 2K17 came out September of 2016 and it is the most addicting game I have ever played. When me and my friends can’t decide what to do, we bring our basketball talents to the Xbox. It sparks a lot of arguments, but in the end it’s all for fun. Sometimes we even bet some money on who will win or by how much we will win. Something everybody enjoys is eating. Whenever me and my friends have nothing to do, we decide to get some fresh air and walk to some food place that we all enjoy . The closest place would be either McDonald's, Taco Bell, or Burger King. Our first option will always be Taco bell, but it takes about forty minutes to walk there, so we usually go to McDonalds and chill there for an hour or so. But no matter what hanging out with friends is always a rollercoaster, and a very fun

For the past 7 years high school basketball players have had to be one year removed from high school and at least nineteen years of age if they have wanted to participate in the NBA draft. Before this time, high school basketball players had the option of leaving high school after their senior year in hopes of playing in the NBA. College was not a requirement for these athletes. This became very controversial when many players were coming to the NBA straight after high school and turning out to be “busts” for NBA teams. Many players couldn’t handle the big leap from going to the prom, to making millions of dollars and competing at a very high level. Eventually the NBA made a rule that all high school graduates had to be at least one year removed from high school and at least nineteen years of age. With this new rule, athletes started going to college for only one year before participating in the NBA draft. This is what sparked the…
