At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is a respected Thane who has shown great loyalty to King Duncan. Soon after, Macbeth followed by his ambition and encouraged by a prophecy and Lady Macbeth, murders King Duncan to take his throne, demonstrating to have a corrupted character. Moreover, Macbeth kills his close people in order to fix his high position. As one betrayal leads to another one, Macbeth had a state of guilt and fear, which made him murder again and again.
Macbeth’s wife was the one watering the seed of ambition in Macbeth and convincing him to commit such horrible crimes. However, provided people seek their ambition to satisfy themselves by interfering others, they never succeeded in getting what they originally wanted. Lady Macbeth is one of those examples. Craving to become a queen, she was blinded by the idea of the total power and, as a result, failed to have a feeling of joy even in the position of the queen. Firstly, after killing the king Lady Macbeth says “a little water clears us of this deed”, which represents that she did not feel sorry for what she had done.
