How My Family Has Influenced Me
Diagnostic Essay

My family has influenced me to be exactly who I am today. They have shown me the paths that I do not want to go on, and the paths that I do. Every action that I make today, I think about how my parents would react before doing so. I’ve seen many people go down the wrong path and not even stop to think about how they are affecting their family. My little close knit family keeps me sane, even on my darker days. My family never had the money to spoil me as a child, so instead of going out and partying with my friends all the time, I spent most of my time with my family. My family is the most important people in my life, and always will be. They have always been by my side through thick and thin, no matter what the obstacle is. Having such great parents inspires me to be the best person that I can be. I have realized that being a family oriented person has helped me to grow up fast, and realize what is important for my future. I wish that everyone had the opportunity to be closer with their families, just so that they can see why I am so inspired to be better than I think I can be. I wouldn’t have made it to where I am today, without the constant influence to make my family proud of me. They will always be my biggest influence, and I wouldn’t want it to be any other

Growing up, family played a significant role in my life. I can truly say that I am who I am today because of them. I was taught that for as long as I live the right way, not hurting anyone along the way, and being thankful for what I have, I will be happy. There were times that I have made the wrong choices, but for the most part, I didn’t forget my parent’s teachings. For instance, getting in trouble with the law for fighting or being disruptive, I eventually grew out of it and learned that maybe violence is not the way to do things. For the most part, having a decent conversation or as simple as talking about the problem will eventually solve the misunderstanding and everything can end well.…

My family defines who I am as a person because they are my backbone and the reason why I strive to do my best. My mother’s family has sheltered me ever since I was born they were there for me when I had nobody. Generally I was unwanted by my other side of family, but my mother’s family never neglected me, they have made my life very easy and guided. In my understanding the reason why I said they are my backbone is because as a child( Baby) I had nothing and I was seriously ill but they never abounded me. My grandparents also went far distance into the village to find a cure to my illness and my aunties & uncle used their dorm room bed sheet as a cloth for me. This is why I appreciate everything in my life because I was a nobody as a baby.…

    2. Not only has she influenced me to take the best care of myself, but she has also taught me to be the best I can be to my loved ones. My mother has influenced me by being an example. She is in the business of flipping houses, and she missed out on the purchase of a house so that she could help me with college. She also gave up rooms in our home to adopted children and foster children. She does not get paid for them, but she brings them in because she loves them. Her sacrifices have made me realize how humbling it is to do such wonderful things for loved ones. At the end of the day, I will always have my family, just like they will always have me. My family is the best it can possibly be, because my mother has influenced all of us to be the best we can to each other.…

Many events have happened through the years which have proved to me how important my family is to me. An event which helped me realize this was the death of my grandpa who lived in Ukraine where my family is originally from. The amount of times I had seen the man I could count on my fingers. This had taught me a very valuable lesson, to be as close with my elders as I can because they aren’t getting any younger. This opened up my eyes to a vast amount of information coming from those who had seen it all. I accredit much of my success to my family members who have provided much inspiration. The event which had influenced me the most had to be almost losing my only blood brother. He is my best friend and I am thankful every day that he is alive.…

My family in particular has never known their limits, always thinking we can find a way around any obstacles ourselves, or do anything as long as we work hard enough. They have passed that ideology down to me. Without my family continually supporting me and giving up so much of their lives, my cousins and I would not be where we are at now, living the lives we live. They have given up so much for me, so I do the same for them, putting in an abundance of effort to make my family proud in order to make all of our dreams a reality. I can see my future straight ahead, and I will never give up until I reach it. Even though that vision has evolved and shifted with each passing year, I know the possibilities are endless as long as I work hard enough, and I will never give up until I reach the dream I have worked so hard…

Families assist in your development over the lifespan. No matter what the situation is, your family is always there to support you through your journey. Though, just because they stick by your side, does not mean it is in a positive manner. It may mean they are just doing their job, following the rest of society to create an image of the perfect family, which may never exist. Though in order to maintain a healthy family, you must respect their beliefs and values.…

Family determines our future. It shapes children into who they will become. If a family sets a bad example for the child, such as involvement in drugs, alcohol, and crime, then the child will most likely follow the same path. If a loving family spends time to teach their children morals and values, then the child will most likely become a good-spirited, well-rounded character. Which type of person would you prefer to be around, given the preceding choices? Therefore, the importance of family, a group of people that inspire and help each other grow, determines who will inhabit the world in the years to come.…

My first reason why family is important to my life is because they have always been there for me. Many of my peers succeed at certain sports or even various classes like English or Calculus. Although, I did struggle with my other activities and curriculum classes, family has always been there. Throughout middle school and high school, I competed with my friend for captain of the soccer team. I didn’t beat him until eighth grade when my hard work finally paid off. Because of this, I now realize how dedication and persistence can help someone achieve one’s goals. If I never decided to join the soccer team and compete for first captain, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to challenge myself and gain the skills and characteristics that would benefit me throughout the rest of my life, if it had not been for my family pushing me to excel.…
