Words I live by
Like most people, I too have certain mottos I live by and center my actions around. I always keep these quotes in my mind as I go about living my life and use them as a guideline to overcome any obstacles thrown my way. This paper will proceed to tell of two stories regarding how I came about these inspirational words and how my life was changed the moment I heard and believed.
No one is an exception to bad experiences or hard work, but the way each individual goes about to overcome these hardships is unique to their own life story. Some people choose to face their problems head on and won’t rest until they are solved. Others, run away from their problems or just ignore their problems all together, acting as if nothing is wrong. My personality follows the first group of individuals; I am willing to solve any of my problems in order to have a better life. Here comes the first episode of my life story. My father is an impressive entrepreneur and ever since I was young my family and I never had to worry about financial problems. However, our luck changed around 2008 and 2009, when my father’s business got really bad along with the rise of the Korean exchange rate, it had almost doubled during this time. Having troubles paying for things that they needed at hand such as housing and food, receiving allowance from my parents as I was studying abroad in America was out of the question. Eventually, my parents wanted me to go back to Korea and enter the Korean army. But I stubbornly defied their wishes and thought, “I can survive on my own, with or without their help. ” Here, my terrible life began; I was a student as well as a fulltime worker going around finding any place that would hire me so that I could raise money for my living expenses. I tried working at a sushi restaurant, tofu restaurant, bars, pubs, liquor stores, as a chauffeur service and even as a water store delivery man—all on top of
