The Decree gets its name from the fire set in the Reichstag which to this day is unclear of who set the fire but it was believed to be set by the communists. Reichstag means parliament. What the Reichstag Fire Decree did was it allowed for anyone who was an enemy to the Nazi party to be arrested. The Reichstag Fire Decree mainly targeted communist party due to the belief that the communists started the fire in the Reichstag.
