As many technology savvy individuals know, technology will always grow at a very fast rate and will come up with newer and more innovative ways of improving the way they process things. In computer systems, the technologies that evolve every time will always be both software and hardware components of a computer. So it is also very wise to upgrade the operating system since this is the system that interfaces hardware, software, and human interaction.
Because operating systems are one of the core technologies that manage software and hardware systems, it must always be upgraded constantly in order to keep up with new technologies. Such technologies that will need to run in new operating system platforms are the new software that just came out of the market. Newer software products are usually much more improved than its previous products. Because they are more improved, most software requires that the installed operating system should be the latest. Newer operating systems tend to manage hardware and software much more efficiently. They usually require only less memory in order for software to have full use of their resources as much as possible. This means, in many cases it will save the customer money from hardware upgrades and immediately translates into cost saving advantage.
Some other perks of upgrading to a newer operating system includes greater stability and security. Developers apply many corrections from its previous version of operating systems. Such of them are security flaws, better navigation, and featured convenience. In Windows vista, some of the most annoying things to do are the constant clicking of approved programs. With the newer version of windows, it does away the vast majority of windows vista’s nagging pop-ups. Users are now able to control relative amount of prompts.
Another cool thing about upgrading the operating system is compatibility. Most components from any old hardware or software are readily compatible with the new operating system and will work right off the bat without any drivers to install. This feature makes it relatively painless and also gives users much more options and controls in handling their operating system.
Unlike windows vista that had so much problem and takes so much computer resources, windows 7 has been programmed to take less computer resources as much as possible and at the same time also considers giving more quality user interface to the user. In other words, it is not a system resource hog as windows vista does.
If a user is running windows vista in their machine, because windows vista is part of Microsoft, it is also very easy to accommodate the new OS to upgrade from vista to window 7. Many users will be very surprised with performance windows 7 gives. After upgrading the system, in many cases users will see a big difference in performance such as loading programs and boots the computer much faster. Even with a slow computer that runs a 1Ghz processor can run windows 7 easily. This operating was also made for low-end Netbook computers that have very limited resources.
Windows 7 is not only very advanced and versatile; it also gives very simple interface, options, and freedom to suit a user’s needs. It has been engineered to work with simple and advanced systems while giving consideration in performance at the same time. It has been made to be compatible with more programs as its predecessors and has been made more secure than windows vista. Businesses will really benefit in this new type of operating system as it also helps save money from unnecessary upgrades with components that can boost performance of a computer.

However, in the 1990s there are competitors in the market, namely, Microsoft Corporation with its Windows NT product. But UNIX-based software suppliers are not just turning over and letting the competitors win. UNIX remains, and will remain a major player in the marketplace. The unique advantage of the UNIX operating system when it was introduced was that it could (and still does) run on dissimilar machines, unheard of prior to 1969. UNIX also can run more than one program at a time, store complex graphics and databases, and link to other UNIX and mainframe computer systems, including DOS since the late 1980s. UNIX-based systems control various programs written by many companies to distribute information between multiple computers within the network. This minimizes user costs and eliminates system-wide hardware crashes.…

As to the Os’ expenses, Microsoft produces different levels of products for every consumer to afford and use, but the Mac Os is only useful on the expensive Apple computers, and Windows can work on any kinds of computers whatever cheap or not except Apple computers.
