Why During this time I would like to have lived in the Midwest, because no matter what there was a place for you, either it be in farming, manufacturing, transporting, the mid-west was growing at such a high rate that there was so much opportunity there. The second industrial revelation affected the north because it led to railroad growth, a rapid growth in manufacturing, increase in immigration, the way it affected the Midwest, was the Midwest became like the beacon of transport mostly everything came through the Midwest, it also had a huge increase in immigration, and manufacturing.
