I have experience writing articles from a little in high school and then more in college when I took an jouranlism class which I got a b in. Then I got two articles published in the newpaper that college had. I had submit some of my work before with goal in mind to just be published. The second time I tried to do this was just in mind the goal of extra credit for another class. But I got lucky and I was thrilled. I tried again with something else I had written and was like they like me they really like me.”

I believe that the freedom to express and impress through writing is everyone’s right to develop and engage. You may not know yet the writer within yourself deep inside waiting for the right moment to ‘boom’ as it slowly develops through minute form of writing.…

The world is full of writers of all kinds: novelists, biographers, copy writers, and even bloggers. Every so often, one of those writers will rise above the rest and become a great author—but what exactly does that take? Many qualities have to come together in one person to make his or her writing great, so having the idea for a story alone is not enough; great writers also have to possess talent and originality as well as the dedication required to see a story through to the end.…

You told yourself you want to become successful as a writer, but you refused to acknowledge the risks you have to go through to reach your goal and your pride tells you that you only want people to listen, to read your books, your articles, your blog posts that contain how great you are, not because you want to share your knowledge and help them out in their struggles.…

My main idea about writing is that clarity is the most important feature in writing a successful paper. Having a clear path that allows you to write efficiently is vital when working on an essay. A clear structure is essential to allow both the author and reader to easily read and comprehend the content that is in front of them.…

A requirement for becoming an intern at my field placement was the completion of the California general mandated reporter training. I completed the training around a week ago, and will use that certificate and experience to complete this assignment. The training is extensive and states to set aside 4 hours to complete the modules in the training. The training is composed of four lessons or modules. Lesson one covers the different types of child abuse: physical, sexual, emotional, and neglect. It also covers the red flags mandated reporters should look for and how to recognize and identify the different types of abuse. Lesson two outlines how to file a report, who must report, when mandated reporters must file a report, and the consequences of failing to file a report. It also explains the confidentiality rights someone has as…

In the past a thousand weeks, I feel like I have accomplished a great deal. As the quarter ends, I find myself reflecting not only how I have survived my fifth quarter but also what I have learned. The most important thing I have learned so far is how to become a better writer. I did not think it could really happen to me. I did not think I could handle all the work. I did not think I could actually become a better writer. Somehow, after all the hours of writing, and putting effort into my papers that I wrote in this quarter, I became a better writer. I did this because I concentrated on two very important areas. With help from an awesome teacher and my partner, I have become a better writer by improving my skills in the areas of procrastination and content.…

The subject English and me have always had a love hate relationship. I love writing when I can write about stories and not write stories, but this year I learned that writing stories isn’t that bad. I am much more open to writing about myself than I was before I began this course. At first it was very difficult for me to put words on papers because most of the prompts had to be personal stories. It was something that I struggled with mainly because I am more reserved and expressing myself isn’t very easy. I feel that writing it was even more difficult simply because I had to make sure I was giving the message I wanted. It is very hard to connect with the audience especially on more personal topics. I was able to overcome this obstacle by using…

Although I must say, I have encountered exceptional teachers in which introduced me to wonderful books and connected in powerful conversations with, but my writing slacks immensely. I am certainly not a strong writer and have often struggled with personal writing. Coming from a household where neither of my parents graduated high school, I found that I have partaken to push myself to be successful. I believe that I am extremely fortunate having the ability to ask for help from my professors, mentor, supervisor and colleagues. My confidence has gone up tremendously when working with clients and other professionals. I believe that I have grown as a writer and a…

Over the course of the past three months, I have had the distinct pleasure of testing my writing capabilities through the Introduction to College Writing course. I have always had a passion for writing in all forms, but in previous years, the course work in grade-level English classes have been unchallenging of my writing ability. I have been heavily involved in Bonneville High School’s newspaper through journalism since my freshman year. This allowed me to strengthen my writing capability as I was drafting throughout the entire school year. I have never truly had to apply myself until I enrolled in English 101. Since the beginning of the class, I have faced various hardships while writing essays in unfamiliar styles, such as drafting a response to a scholarly article and synthesizing opposing perspectives. I have learned that I am more than capable in writing in different styles and that all of my work will be quality content regardless of the topic. I overcame the obstacles that have challenged me, and my essays exhibit that I am fully prepared to continue my work in English 102.…

Two of the worst things you can be are extremely shy and extremely tall. The shyness and anxiety make you want to become a small ball, but you can’t do that when you’re twelve and 5’9. These overwhelming emotions made me want to quickly disqualify any and everything that brought attention to myself. So that made journalism seem like a non- existing option. However, I continued to write because that’s what I loved and even if I couldn’t pursue it I needed to write because it was a part of me. I decided to attend a high school that specialized in all things communications, not because I magically thought journalism was for me, but because I wanted to go to a school where no one knew me. This was one of the best things I could’ve done. In the center for communications, I learned the ins and outs of writing academically and for a publication. I learned how to separate you on screen persona from your…

The key topic I have learned that plays a huge role in the writing process is confidence. When writers are confident about their piece and they really love the way it has turned out, then it shows through the entire paper. I always tell my dance students that if they show the audience how much they love dancing, then more people will want to watch them. And I think the same goes for…

Writing in journals for class or writing stories for entertainment proved to be great fun. The writing level of elementary and middle school was easy to learn and work with. Arriving in high school, I felt confident in my writing skills. High school level writing proved to be more challenging. After English I, I felt unprepared for the rest of my high school writing experience. I grew to become uninterested in writing for the next two years. I procrastinated finishing any writing assignment I was given. Though I received decent grades on my assignments, I could have received better grades had I not procrastinated writing my assignments. My attitude toward writing has changed from disinterested to excited with my Composition I and II classes. I have learned much in the first semester of this course and I have grown to enjoy writing again because of this…

My writing process has always been a frustrating one. I like writing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. When I was younger, I loved letting my creative side shine by writing silly stories and pretending I was Stephen King, using words that I didn't even understand. My dad read me Shel Silverstein's books of poems and and drawings. Those books inspired me so much to write and to draw and be creative on a blank sheet of paper.…
