Who would not want to be the best wide receiver the league has ever seen, with these steps anyone who wants to be a receiver could be one of the greats. The wide receiver’s position is known to be the most favored position in football. To be the best receiver these steps and skills should be present: Releasing off of the ball, Route Running, and Catching ability.
The first step of becoming a great receiver is mastering the art of releasing off the ball. This is very important because if the receiver cannot get off of the ball the receiver cannot go on to the next steps of being a great receiver. Why? Because if the quarterback sees the receiver having a hard time he has to make his reads and he will overlook the receiver and move on. There are many occasions where the pass can be incomplete like an overthrown ball where the ball is thrown far out of the reach of the receiver. For example, if the receiver is open and drops the football, or if the defensive back interrupts the play gets a hand in to deflect the ball away. So therefore strong hands are key to being a great receiver, the receiver needs to be able to feel and grip the ball tight. It is also important to work on the receiver’s hand eye coordination he needs to follow the ball all the way into the catch.
We all just naturally want to be great receivers but it takes hard work and dedication to succeed. Perfecting these steps through every situation of adversity the receiver comes to meet will make him become that great receiver he desire to be.
