Tax reform may be the biggest issue today. Donald promises to reduce taxes for the middle class. He also wants to ensure everyone pays their fair share. Hillary wants to do a lot of the same things. She wants to make the wealthy and big corporations pay taxes. Also she wants to close tax loopholes.
Health care is a big problem in today’s society. Hillary wants to defend and replace the affordable care act. According to Clinton,”Defend and expand the Affordable Care Act, which covers 20 million people.”

The President of the United States holds a lot of power and needs to be mature, confident, and have strong moral values. So in this election where both candidates are facing controversies that are doing damage to their campaign, it is hard to decide who is more fit to be the president of the United States especially when it appears that neither candidate is fit to lead this country. Trump has accomplished a lot in his career like his business, his campaign and his policies which would help the economy while improving the country ass a whole. Trump also has several policies that he would like to enact that he would believe would help our country be more efficient and safer, unlike Clinton who wants to restrict some rights and risk…

One of Clinton's domestic accomplishments was the Welfare Reform Act of 1996 because it replaced the AFDC and had a large impact on those who relied on welfare. The new act changed the system by setting new restrictions and guidelines for those who were using welfare and it lowered the percentage of people who relied on welfare by 57%. Clinton’s new Healthcare plan, however, had failed due to a large negative impact from physicians, insurance and tobacco companies, and others who this would’ve affected harshly. So of the opposed changes included the new limits by how much people were able to pay physicians with Medicare, insurance caps, and higher tax rates on tobacco companies to cover costs. Another slightly failed domestic policy Clinton tried to accomplish was to end the ban of gays in the military.…

The candidates I have picked for comparison are Carly Fiorina and Donald Trump. Both are running as Republican’s in the 2017 presidential election. Both candidates are doing well in the polls. Fiorina is second in the polls right behind Trump at first. Fiorina is a former business CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Trump is a real estate developer, TV star and a successful businessman. Where both candidates are Republican’s they will agree on some topic but will differ in the way they agree and the way they would handle each issue that America in facing as of now in the 21st century.…

One of the most divisive topics in today’s society is politics. Our political system consists of two major parties; Republicans and Democrats. There are similarities between the parties, but they are often eclipsed by vast ideological differences. The most obvious differences lie in social issues; such as same-sex marriage, gun control, and immigration reform. According to a Pew Research Center poll conducted in 2014, 36% of Republicans and 27% of Democrats see the opposing party as a threat to the nation’s well-being (Sherman, D. and Van Boven, L. 9/24/14). Media outlets focus on the differences between the two parties, but people may be surprised at how much Republicans and Democrats have…

Obamacare is the current form of healthcare that our country uses, and it is one of the worst forms of healthcare that has ever been came up with. Healthcare reform is a very touchy subject these days. Presidential campaign promises have been made in the past to reform the healthcare system but like a lot of campaign promises, they were not kept. There is too much money and politics involved in the current healthcare system. Big insurance companies pay a lot of money to lobbyists to keep the status quo, which is more money coming in than paying out. Healthcare reform was one of the campaign promises by the current president, Barack Obama. On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the “Affordable Care Act” into law. Under this law all Americans have access to quality affordable health care.…

The Affordable Care Act (2009) and the Health Security Act (1993) were two attempts made to reform the U.S. healthcare system. In 1993 the Clinton administration fought to better the system and provide comprehensible healthcare coverage to its citizens. This bill however was shot down in the legislative system and never made it into law. Then in 2010 the Obama administration squeezed their updated version of the bill through the House and Senate in a very narrow, partisan victory. The reasoning behind why the Clinton’s attempt didn’t get passed came down to two reasons. First it was highly criticized and opposed politically. Secondly it was a matter of concerns about the actual content of the bill.…
