Even though bullying is different for each victim it can be just has harmful because there are different types such as verbal bullying or physical bullying or indirect bullying. II. Verbal bullying A. What is verbal bullying? Calling names, making fun of someone or verbal threats B. 31% of children, age 14 have experienced verbal bullying. (Steele, 2011) III. Physical Bullying A. What is physical bullying? Hitting, punching, kicking; inflicting pain on another person B. Signs that a child is getting physically bullied IV. How to help victims of bullying A. Letting the victim know that it is not their fault they are getting bullied it’s the insecurities of the bully. B. Always letting the victim know that there is help and it is safe to talk about it. They don’t have to suffer in silence. V. Conclusion A. How each type of bullying ties into each other. B. How to protect the children overall
Bullying a School Age Epidemic Many students have fallen victim to bullying and teachers are in need of understanding how to help prevent it. Witnessing bullying and not knowing how to handle the situation can do more harm. Understanding the different types of bullying can help resolve many issues different students are having. “Bullying covers a wide range of actions, from name calling, saying or writing nasty things, leaving kids out of activities, not talking to them, threatening them, making them feel scared, taking or damaging their stuff, hitting them or making them do things they don’t want to do. (Dosani, 2008)” Even though bullying is different for each victim it can be just has harmful because there are different types such as verbal bullying or physical bullying or indirect bullying.
