1.1 Definition of Culture
Culture is the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of human group from another. There is more than one definition to define culture. Culture is also including the elements of behaviors, belief, values, norms and symbols that a group of people accept.
1.2 Trompenaars's Dimensions.
Trompenaars there are seven dimensions had been highlighted. Firstly, Universalism is the ideas can be used around the world without do any changing where as particularism do the opponent things. Particularism is an idea that use around the world should be based on nationality style and it cannot be same around the world. Example of country using universalism and particularism is United State, Australia and Germany also Indonesia and China do respectively as it. Next, individualism dimension is the person looking themselves as individuals and it is popular in Japan and Canada culture. Communitarianism is the people look on themselves as a group part and it popular among Malaysia and Korea culture style. Neutral dimension explain on a person emotion are held in check and emotional dimension referring to a person emotion are expressed openly. Both dimension are popular in Japan and United Kingdom also Mexico and Netherlands as respectively. Besides that, specific dimension showing the large space shared with others and small private space guarded them closely and it had been use in United State as their culture. The public dimension shown on the space between each people for them to shared with private space. Achievement dimension telling the person been graded based on their performance, but ascription dimension the person graded themselves based on their position. Mostly, the ascription dimension is popularly in Indonesia. Sequential vs. Synchronous showing that people that can only do one work at a time and the person with multi-tasking style.
