How To Plasti Dip
If you’re passionate about cars then rim customization is a must for you. One of the easiest and smarter ways to customize a vehicle's rim is with Plasti Dip. To begin painting your tires you are going to want to place the car jack strategically on a solid piece at the bottom of the car frame near the tire you are painting first. Once the tire is completely off of the vehicle place it on a solid part on the ground (place the tire on paper if necessary to eliminate overspray on unwanted surfaces). When the tire is placed on a solid surface, get some sort of cleaning wipes or spray and begin cleaning the rim of the tire so there is no dirt or grime preventing the Plasti Dip paint to come off. While letting the cleaning solution dry, you will want to mask up the actual tire. To mask the tire, take masking tape and start taping at the immediate edge of the rim(but do not let the tape touch the edge of the rim) and tape outwards toward the end of the wheel or until you cover all of the words on the wheel. Masking this way will prevent any overspray covering the important words on the wheel. After giving the cleaning solution time to dry and masking the tire, you will then take a can of the Plasti Dip can and “dust” the rim. When dusting, your aim is to just put a very light coat of the paint on the material,

My preliminary plan was simply to build up the colors to a deep, crimson hue, and let that be the focal point of the piece, but it became increasingly difficult to produce a concentrated color that would have the necessary consistency. The paint would fly off in chunks rather than a spatter. The “happy accident” came when I attempted to scrape off these dried chunks, and discovered the resulting resemblance to bullet holes. It was unintentional, but now prevails as the focal point of the piece.…
