The story takes place at the Greenberg’s house (David’s home), Harmon Middle School (David meets Sophie at the school who helps David to make his videos go live on You Tube), and the Meyer’s house (David and Sophie share a great bond and become closer friends. David learns that Sophie’s mom is very protective, but he tells her that he doesn’t really have a mom anymore and that he would take her mom any day. They share with each other things that they have never told anyone else and they become really close friends.

Characters-
The main character in the story is David Greenberg. He wants to grow up to be the host of the Daily Show since his idol is Jon Stewart. David is a very smart boy and is extremely advanced in his math class.
Sophie Meyers is another character in the story. She is best friends with David. She is also very smart and in the same math class as David. Sophie is embarrassed by her mom being so protective over her that she chooses not to bring friends to her home.
Hammy is David’s pet hamster, but in the story Hammy helps David makes his You Tube videos funny. Hammy is special to David because his mom gave him to David before she left him.
Mrs. Greenberg- (David’s mother) she left David and Lindsey because she had a phobia that made it hard for her to leave the house. She felt like she was trapped in her home. She ended up leaving to be with a farmer from Maine named Marcus.
Mr. Greenberg- (David’s father) He is a good father to Lindsay and David. He also likes to give advice to people. He has an article in the newspaper “Alan Answers.”
Lindsay Greenberg- (David’s sister) Lindsay and David get along extremely well. She is always there to offer support and advise to David about middle school.
Bubbe- (David’s grandmother) She takes care of them like their mom would have done. She supports David with his videos and offers positive advice to
