Around the middle of February this year baby Asha was badly burnt by boiling water and was rushed off to Lady Cilento Hospital, here in Brisbane. After being in hospital for treatment it was time for the doctors to send her back to terrifying Nauru. But the doctor and nurses after hearing about the inhumane conditions were Asha lived they refused to sign baby Asha out. Many protesters including some All Hallows girls from the Human Rights Mercy Action Group joined the protest. They were joining with thousands of other voices in demanding the baby Asha should be moved to a community detention rather than retuning to Nauru. After the successful protest by the hard working and dedicated medical staff and protesters, Baby Asha and her relative were moved into the community. The government however has regrettably threatened to send this child back to Nauru in the future. It is up to us to make sure this does not happen. I ask you to close your eyes and imagine you’re a refugee child locked up in what seems to be a prison with no idea what is going on. Thinking back to your terrible traumas of what life was like where you came
