How To Write A Reflection On Service Learning

One of my service learning projects was based on my bill to the president. I addressed an issue that is contradicting our environment from the past years and is still occurring today. My bill topic was about racial profiling towards black people from the police and how it's affecting our country. I wrote my bill to the president to show him what others think about the conflict that is occurring; And what laws we want the government to change to make this country a safer place for every race. I felt strongly towards this topic because everyone deserves to be treated the same. I believed that he was suitable to contact this issue towards because he would understand the issue better than anyone, because of his race. We shouldn’t be handled differently if we have a different race than white. Nonetheless, my bill wasn't able to pass due to our penalty. Our bill didn’t have the majority of votes in congress. This project taught me to reanalyze my thoughts and place details that provide enough information that show our perspective on the issue and how it should be solved.

My service learning experience relates
The skills we developed during many projects, such as, the Bill project, Letter to Constituents, Election Project, and etc; Are going to be useful for not only history classes but for English, Math, and Science. This is because history classes encounter our opinions and perspectives that we have on the real world issues. Applying the connections towards the outside world with what we’re learning in all classes is very significant and may increase our comprehension of the particular topic. In a way, our class discusses each other's opinions and what we believe is right in either small groups or as partners.
