Finn had been sluggishly dragging his feet across the rock hard ground past all the frozen human bodies. He searched each lifeless person he came across for anything he might need. Finn carried a leather sack that was in better condition than anything else he owned. The sack contained a blanket, a metal bottle, a thermometer, matches, and an empty bread bag. Before he knew it, the blackness was on top of him licking his face. Finn adjusted his eyes by blinking briskly and quickly realized a black fuzzy hound was standing on his chest. Finn couldn’t remember the last time he felt something so warm slip through his fingertips. With all the adrenaline running through him, he jumped onto his feet in awe. This dog looked awful healthy to be out here alone. Finn felt a sense of relief that he might be close to others. He was going to accompany the mut and see where its food supply was coming
