tuition, or just to keep a roof over his and his daughter’s heads. Stephen knew that he had to find a better job if he wanted his daughter and himself to have an improved lifestyle. After the divorce Stephen got a job in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as a contractor. Even though he would be away from his daughter for a long time, he made the decision to accept the job so that his daughter’s life would be easier. Stephen always put his family before himself. Even being 7,343 miles away from his family didn’t stop him from making sure everyone had what they needed. After being back from Saudi Arabia for two years,he married a mother of two.
Stephen bought a new house for his family and he was finally living in a way that he didn’t have to struggle to provide for his family. One day Stephen realized that he had a weakness for people who are in need and he had the ability to help them,so he started helping people around the surrounding area. He decided to start doing research on his community to see in what ways he could help. First, he started as a basketball coach at the Shirley B Winston Gymnasium in Columbus,Georgia. There he coached for free, but even though his team never won a game, he still took them out to places just to show them a good time. After the basketball season ended, Stephen started to devote more and more of his time to helping people.
Stephen, now 35, has his own successful accounting business in the heart of Phenix City, Alabama.

Stephen teaches his children about the importance of an education and that you have to be prepared for the “real world”. Stephen wants the best for his family and if that requires his blood, sweat and tears, that’s what he’ll contribute.
“Everybody goes through trials in their life, but you gotta keep pushing” says Stephen when you ask him about his life now. Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once. No matter what obstacles get in your way never let them get you down. Continue to stay focused on what you dream of and never stray away from that
path.
