becomes close with the neighborhood family and gradually befriends them, in the same time Thaos family asks that Thao should work for Walt in order to pay for his dis honor of his family after trying to steal Walts 1972 Gran Torino. Through the coming weeks in which Thao works for Walt, he begins to see a younger version of himself constantly working away.
One day Walt begins to teach Thao how to behave and talk as a man as well as help Thao find a job in order to pay for his school education, one day after coming home from work Thao is grabbed by his cousins gang and burned for humiliating his cousin in front of his own gang. After which Walt finds out about and then begins to track down the gang and threatens the gang into leaving Thao alone, after this is done the gang pulls a drive by shooting at Thaos house and also beat and rape Thaos sister Sue. After seeing this Walt is filled with rage and begins to partly destroy his house, the next day padre comes to visit Walt after the police had left the neighborhood and at that time padre and Walt have a long discussion on what would be the right thing to do at the given time. The following day Walt spends time bringing himself to peace by first going to confession and by fitting himself a suit in preparation for his inevitable death that is soon to come. When the time has come to confront the gang Walt locks Thao within his basement after telling him of his experiences in Korea and what it is like to kill another man, when Walt confronts the gang he pretends as if he was
drawing a gun in order to have the gang fire upon him and dying as a martyr for Thaos family to enjoy peace.
Idea 1 : Although war veterans are often forgotten they all still live as if they were in the war
Techniques:
Body motion - The way in which Walt moves is very systematic, stern and soldier like.
Thought process - Whenver there is a sign of possible danger Walt always reaches for his fire arm because he belives it his most trustworthy tool.
Example:
Preferred Response: Most war veterans have not forgotten the pain in which they endured to serve their country, although their efforts are ordinarily unseen they still live to serve for their country.
Idea 2: Children from run down areas are more prone to gang violence and association with gangs.
Techniques:

Example: While Thao is sitting at his porch his cousin grabs him and forces him to get in the car and tells Thao that he has to steal the Gran Torino.
Preferred Response: There is hope within these run down areas, not all the adolescence are willing to join the gangs and there are always those that will stand up to those terrorising the innocent in these areas.
Idea 3:
