Ziauddin opened a small school in the Swat Valley where the children could get a decent education. It does not take long for the taliban to threaten the school and to spread rumors about what is being taught at the school, they even shoot one of the school's administrators. On October 8, 2012, she was shot at point blank range in the head by the Taliban while returning home from school on a bus.
Malala's personality is a very happy one and she is always looking on the bright side of things even when it's hard.
