The cat Jasper is a male cat that was given an over-the-counter analgesic which had caused him to keep getting sicker. He is one years old and weighs seven pounds, five ounces. His symptoms included vomiting and having diarrhea for several days. His lab tests showed a metabolic acidosis meaning there was too much acid in his body fluid. This meant Jasper could have been given acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen. To identify what analgesic Jasper was given we took samples of the different analgesics and crushed them. We used a melting point apparatus to find out what the melting point was and matched it with acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen. Then we used the Infrared Spectroscopy to determine the function group of the molecules to help us identify which analgesic was used. Between the symptoms, melting point, and results of the infrared spectroscopy we were able to identify what analgesic Jasper ingested.…

The next morning Proserpina didn’t say a word to Pluto. She sat outside on the stairs of the palace going over her plan over and over again in her head. She was excited that this would her last day in this disgusting underworld, but she was also worried. “What if he catches me?” Proserpina thought to herself. “He’d probably lock me up for good, or even worse... he’d kill me.” Proserpina shook those awful thoughts and kept a positive attitude. Pluto came outside and saw Proserpina just sitting on the steps looking out into the…

It was when I hopped onto his carriage when I started to feel unsure about the situation. I was encompassed with a sense of anxiety as we traveled among the uneven, dirt forest. As we grew closer to reaching the castle, the forest was becoming more and more darker, and I heard a lot of strange noises. When we reached the castle, an uneasy feeling came upon me as the ambiance of the area was that of loneliness and despair. I saw that Pluto’s demeanor changed drastically throughout the trip to the castle as he seemed to be more stoic and unpersonable; unlike the guy I met in the forest. Pluto whispered something to one of the guards and before I knew it; I was grabbed by the arm and whisked away to a dark room. This room consisted of only a window, a bed, and a bed stand. Pluto came to the room and said “I’ve been…

In conclusion… (restate thesis)because Pluto is round just like any other planet and shouldn’t be judged by its size, it should still be a planet. Also, because it has a clear orbit. This is because Pluto has not only cleared its path, but it has a greater disadvantage of having objects in its radius. My third reason is because Pluto orbits the sun. Pluto’s orbit has an average distance of 58 km (kilometers) from the sun and is much further away from the sun than Earth is. This is why i think Pluto should be considered a…

Voting done at the International Astronomical Union convention about pluto's status of being a planet was a harsh new reality, with the majority voting for pluto's demotion. Professor Alan Stern, chief scientist for the New Horizon mission set for learning more about pluto, called the outcome "an awful decision" and described the new definition as "internally inconsistent" ("Why Is Pluto No Longer a Planet?"). The debate of pluto being a planet has started since pluto first became a planet in 1930. The discovery was an astonishing find since astronomers had been baffled by the strange gravitational pull between Uranus and Neptune. While Percival Lowell was unable to find the precise location of…
