1.Introduction of Baidu
Baidu is the biggest Chinese search engine in the world. Robin Li and Eric Xu established it in 1999 in Silicon Valley. They set their headquarters in Haidian District in Beijing in2000. (Baidu, 2010) The name of Baidu originated from a poem 800 years ago during the Song Dynasty. It means keeping searching for dream although the road is tough. The aim of Baidu is to provide people with a convenient and reliable way to get information. At the beginning, Baidu was a small company whose employees were less than 10 people but now there are more than 18,000 employees. It becomes the most welcome and influential Chinese website now.
Baidu is in charge of the most advanced search engine technology in the world. It makes China be one of four countries, which have the search engine core technology. Baidu has become one of the most valuable brands in China. Financial Times listed Baidu as “Top 10 world brands of china”. (Financial Times, 2008) It is the youngest company among them and it is the only one
