Cementownia Odra

Tomasz Budziak and Hans-Hugo Miebach are two authoritative representatives of their respective parties currently involved in a decision to accept a major financial transaction. Miebach has offered a deal to Budziak that was the highest bid on a company owned by a ministry of Poland. This bid, however, contains high risk that could damage the benefits of the transaction and cause Poland to suffer drawbacks if certain events were to occur. The outstanding issues of this deal is very important to both Miebach and Budziak.

Team leader Tomasz Budziak works for the ministry of privatization and is responsible for the sale of Cementownia Odra. This company deals with making cement and a German company representative, Hans-Hugo Miebach has elected to pay a substantial amount for purchasing the company. With the decision to purchase, however, he has set forth criteria that are to be accepted by Budziak in order for the high price purchase to go through. This criteria includes land for quarry expansion, a Tax Holiday, Financial Warranty, and BRAM importation.

These issues are not all valued equally between the two parties but the decision to import BRAM fuel greatly affects both parties in this dilemma. There is a major benefit if Miebach is allowed to import BRAM fuel from Germany since he will get paid to do so but will be a significant issue for Budziak since it was determined that there is only a 10% possibility of that being allowed and thus a 90% chance of having to divvy up 3 million

Seventy years ago last month, in the pre-dawn hours of a Sunday morning, two Honolulu police officers awakened a young man named Horace Ida at his home in Kalihi-Palama. Ida dressed hurriedly and went with the detectives, thinking he knew what they were after. Two hours earlier, while driving his sister's car, Ida had a near collision with another auto at the corner of King and Liliha streets. An argument broke out and one of the men riding with Ida got in a brief scuffle with a woman in the other car. Ida assumed the woman remembered his license plate number and decided to file charges.…

While those caissons go rolling along, the life of a U.S. Army recruit goes far beyond the grandeur of dodging machine gun fire, or inching up beaches and hills awash with unexploded mines and exploding artillery shells. The vast organizations comprising our nations defense require massive informational and logistical support in order to operate in a smooth, reliable fashion, and a single cog out of place can bring even the most well oiled machine to a grinding halt. One of these jobs, cryptologic linguistics, is as necessary for the common defense as even the most seasoned flapjack flippers and piccolo players. After joining the Army, this species of soldier undergoes an extensive and ongoing education, ultimately progressing from duty station to duty station, providing an invaluable service to a primarily unilingual force operating on a multilingual planet.…

During the ”Foreign Investment Negotiation Simulation” (FINS) we have met a lot of interesting and important issues a company has to concern about by acting in an international environment. As we represented the government of Tropicalia we were obviously in a somehow particular position. We had to follow the goals of a government, which can differ quite a lot from the goals of private companies: Rather than financial goals as the main issue (even though this obviously also is of certain importance), we had to deal with tasks like creating labour, technology transfer and free-trade agreements. Nevertheless we also had to consider the position of the companies and thereby we were compelled to deal with their main issues. Before starting negotiation talks with a company we had to guess what will be their strategies so that we could develop our own strategies to get the best possible outcome.…

An article (Poznanski, 2001) about some of these problems has evidence showing that for example Eastern European states such as Poland, have sold off their cap-ital without receiving the appropriate compensation for their value, alluding to corrupt practices in the auctions of state enterprises. in Russia itself we see the high extent of consolidation of capital into the hands of oligarchs as evidenced by Guriev and Rachinsky (2005), which could be identified as a consequence of bureaucratic corruption during the transition period in Eastern Europe. But despite the problems each country faces during the transitional period, there are definite strengths in each country’s (Russia and Poland) strategies and policies as evidenced by their high economic and political power compared to the other former Soviet Union…
