I think the topic that I select is very interesting but I think is a little bit controversial because this writer includes God in his Discourse of the Method. The way that Descartes started this passage made me think that he relies on his own understanding including that he was really confused about his existence, where his thoughts and ideas came from this part was very surprise to me. The first point when I get surprise was when he said that he decided to pretend that every thought he had, were no more true, than the illusions and dreams he always had. Being a person that believes in God. For this reason I put in the beginning of the paragraph that this topic is a little bit controversial. Then to my surprise, he came to realize that the ideas put in him were by something greater than him. He said that the thing greater than him is God. Another statement that took me by surprise was when he stated that God was in us.
He realized that human were imperfect but that we also had a form of perfection in us from God, thus, giving us the ability to attain certain thoughts and ideas. Another wow factor for me that Descarte mentioned was when he said that if there were any other intelligences or natures that weren’t perfect, they would have to be totally dependent on God power to stay alive or even be part of existence. The reason this surprised me was because this is something that many people never think about or they do not want to have in consideration. People are always doubting where they come from and why we are here, but never really put these two things together. If it were not for God, we would never even be here! But this thought is for people that believe that God is the creator. I believe that the surprise ending was when Descartes realized that God is perfect and he was made to see this by God. Descartes state that “God is perfect and his ideas were placed in him by God and he depended on this being because he is so perfect for his existence”.
Descarte convinced me of the validity of his thinking by several factors. He first spoke about the subject matter of geometry and how many different shapes and sizes could be moved around in all types of ways. Then he mentioned how all of a triangles angles perfectly equal to right angles, comparing this to the perfection of God. He also stated that people never try to raise their minds above things that can be perceived. In these points he make a strong enfaces and he put a good example of the invention that God have offer to have to have a good and advances societies but unfortunately the humanity use this knowledge with different purpose.

My view on the subject of looking for more oil by drilling in places that have not been checked before is it is unnecessary. If the companies that put such effort toward blocking attempts to phase in more alternative sources for power put the effort into developing these alternatives sources the world would be much healthier. The oil industry is one of the richest and most powerful industries in the world today and this industry is fighting against the change to cleaner and more environmentally safe energy alternatives. The reason for the oil industry to resist this change is pure greed. The industry stands to lose a great deal of money if the United States government phases out the use of fossil fuels.…

This surprise is first revealed after three paragraphs of Descartes debating the truth of his own existence between the conscious awake times and the unconscious dream times and the relationship to things in nature. According to Descartes (1636), “In thinking it is necessary to exist” and “that all things which we very clearly and distinctly conceive are true.” It is at that point that his focus turns to describing the proof of existence of God as the creator of all imperfect things.…

There are so many ways King Tut could have died. Some people are saying he was murdered and some say he died from an injury. The book of Sayre said, “at the time of Tut’s death, the last judgment was routinely illustrated in Books of Going Forth by Day (also known as Books of the Dead), collections of magical texts or spells buried with the deceased to help them survive the ritual of judgment” (Sayre, 2012, p.88).…

The surprise ending comes when he states that God is perfect and that his ideas were placed in him by God and that he depended on this being who is so perfect for his existence. In the First Meditation, Descartes gives us the Evil Demon Hypothesis which serves to give him reason to doubt the existence of everything he perceives and believes. He describes a ‘malicious demon of the utmost power and cunning’ that has the sole purpose of deceiving Descartes (Descartes, 2010: 17). I will argue that his hypothesis has proven to be a strong one because only the cogito provides a way for us to frustrate or trick the evil demon.…

After this doubt Descartes reasons that rather than a Deity, it is an evil demon that deceives him. Here he starts to doubt things such as the sky, air, Earth, colors, figures, and sounds. He attributes these to being mere illusions of dreams. By the end of Meditation one, Descartes has doubted his senses, his prospect of reality, God, and an evil demon. All of these things lead him back to where he started at the beginning of his writing. He even states himself that he has “fallen back into the train of my former beliefs.” With this, Descartes has chosen to retreat back under his personal blanket of ignorant…

One of the replies which for me exemplifies one of the concerns is when it states that “I'm a finite thing and that compression put some limits on god, god is infinite thus I cannot comprehend god, however this does not precent me from perceiving god” this was the reply from the 5th objection which states that If I have an idea of god I should be able to comprehend it. Also in the fourth set of objection which said that god does not need a cause and therefore god is not the case of oneself. Descartes replies to this by saying that by using the word cause he was merely making an analogy between and effect and its cause.…
