Psychology has 7 modern perspectives which are psychodynamic, behavioral, humanistic, cognitive, sociocultural, biopsychological, and evolutionary. Psychodynamic focuses on the unconscious mind. Behavioral focuses on what we can observe. Humanistic perspective focuses on human potential. Cognitive focuses on mental processes. Sociocultural focuses on cultures and societies. Biopsychology focuses on how our biology affects our behavior. Last but not least evolutionary focuses on what our mental state is for example why we lie. What this is saying is how we can learn and focus on solving problems and making sure that it is embedded in our memory. This perspective and the behavioral perspective are similar for the simple fact that they both go based on how something impacts the way we behave. Cognitive is a perfect example of how the mental processes work because this is where all the wheels start turning and where decisions are being processed through. This is where cognitive comes in and shows us what exactly is going on in their mind. Behavioral is also important to remember because of the fact that it is the source of how a person is going to act. All of these perspectives are helping us psychologist make sure we know what is going on with each individual. Everyone is different and although people go through the same things they all react differently. With these perspectives we can research more and more and figure out how each individual
