The community of Middleboro and the surrounding area has grown significantly in the past 10 years, but much of this growth has been in the other surrounding towns, giving the Hillsboro area the appearance of growth throughout. Certainly, not everyone can become a human service provider, because of those skills that are not taught, like patience or empathy, are needed to be a good provider along with the technical skills learned from education and by working the job. The DSS mainly caters to women and children .This resource helps with food through a program named SNAP which stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The main role of this service is to supplement the incomes of the people who are having issues providing food for their family. This is done by Social services issuing an electronic benefit card also referred to as EBT card to distribute stamps on a monthly basis until the family is able to provide for their family with no assistance.
