I have to be honest; in the first place I didn’t want to go to listen things about this topic because it really freaks me out. So I went with a bad attitude, but at the moment that the survivors of this terrible abuse started talking I was in shock, I cant even described with words the feeling I felt. I’ve never met anyone personally that went through this experience, so it was horrifying to listen how this actions really exist. Both ladies were sexually abused and mentally tortured which makes a person to feel without dignity and probably think that this happens to everyone and it is normal. They both risk their lives looking for freedom until fortunately with the help of others they found it. Also in the conference there were two other ladies that decided to spend their lives helping the victims of this terrible act. Providing a place to live, medical and physiological help to girls that been through this.
It makes me tremble each time I think of how a person can overcome this issue and not only defeat the beast of fear but also willing to help other people like them. That shares the same pain, shame and frustration. The statistics of people being part of human traffic has increased enormously specifically in the borders of United States with Mexico in the last couple of years, which is a shame. Instead of being reduced each time little by little. It is amazing how people are helping others inviting them to overcome this and start a new life full of joy.
Giving the love and acceptance that all human being needed to go beyond frontiers. The experience I felt about this conference will remain forever in me, it was interesting but at the same time grateful and pleasing that I met two ladies that overcome this issue, it is a huge example for all of us that we can continue with life no matter what. That there are obstacles that will appear sooner or later in our lives but with the help of others we can unite forces and face it until you can leave it behind you. Walk ahead, move on and never look back again.

In the early 1900’s Mexican migrants were free to enter and leave the U.S. whenever they felt like it. The primary concern of the border patrol was to keep the Chinese migrants out. For the most part every person who tried to get into the U.S. and looked hispanic was allowed and never questioned. It is important to point out why losing fear is one the greatest achievements of the Chicano movement. When one has been in fear, meaning they do not feel they have the right to demand proper treatment or appropriate pay life can be more difficult. Often illegal immigrants will live in constant fear of getting sent back to their countries where they no longer feel identified with, separating from their families that have been living here for years and often are afraid of losing the economic opportunities that seem to keep them here.…

There are many different reasons why drivers could be distracted, for example: cellphones, other accompanied people in the vehicle, intoxicated driving, or simply being distracted by outside objects.…

It is important that abusers get caught and prosecuted and that the victims get the help they need. It is also important to prevent things like this from happening in the future by safeguarding and speaking out about things that a person may have seen or noticed in another. Places such as the ones mentioned in the presentation were involved in most of the types of abuse discussed and nothing was done about it until it was captured on film. Patients at these places had to go through experiences of abuse on a daily basis whether it was happening to them or to others they still had to endure the events. Therefore in the future I think it should be highly important for people to speak out things happening to them or things they know are happening to others so that abuse can be stopped and prevented from happening again or to another…

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) defines aggressive driving as "the operation of a motor vehicle in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger persons or property"a traffic and not a criminal offense like road rage. Examples include speeding or driving too fast for conditions, improper lane changing, tailgating and improper passing. Approximately 6,800,000 crashes occur in the United States each year; a substantial number are estimated to be caused by aggressive driving. 1997 statistics compiled by NHTSA and the American Automobile Association show that almost 13,000 people have been injured or killed since 1990 in crashes caused by aggressive driving. According to a NHTSA survey, more than 60 percent of drivers consider unsafe driving by others, including speeding, a major personal threat to themselves and their families. About 30 percent of respondents said they felt their safety was threatened in the last month, while 67 percent felt this threat during the last year. Weaving, tailgating, distracted drivers, and unsafe lane changes were some of the unsafe behaviors identified. Aggressive drivers are more likely to drink and drive or drive unbelted. Aggressive driving can easily escalate into an incident of road rage. Motorists in all 50 states have killed or injured other motorists for seemingly trivial reasons. Motorists should keep their cool in traffic, be patient and courteous to other drivers, and correct unsafe driving habits that are likely to endanger, antagonize or provoke other motorists. More than half of those surveyed by NHTSA admitted to driving aggressively on occasion. Only 14 percent felt it was "extremely dangerous" to drive 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. 62 percent of those who frequently drive in an unsafe and illegal manner said police for traffic reasons had not stopped them in the past year. The majority of those in the NHTSA survey (52 percent) said it was "very important" to do something about…

Over the years Human Trafficking has grown tremendously. Besides the fact that it is getting worse and worse each year, a majority of which is due to the economy, society has negligently treated the issue of human trafficking by obtaining a careless attitude. Most have the “it will not ever happen to me”, or “it only happens in other parts of the world” mentality. But realistically that is just not the case. Human trafficking is happening all around the world and the chances of it happening to you are highly increasing. Reported by Bilich (2000)”Every 40 seconds in the United States, a child becomes missing or is abducted.” As startling as this statistic may sound, it shows the reality of how unsafe our children really are. Although children may be the most targeted, adults over the age of eighteen are also a target for human trafficking. We as a whole need to resolve the problem before it gets worse.…
