Humanism In A Shitstorm Summary
In “Humanism in a Shitstorm”, Greta Christina suggests that religion is not the solution to all of life’s problems. Christina writes that atheists do not turn to religion in times of crisis. She notes that through all her trials and tribulations, she has not once converted to religion. Christina comments that if atheists offered their support to others who are going through a hard time, maybe it would not be so hard to cope with things like death. To support this claim, she refers to a time in her life when she lost her father and was diagnosed with cancer within a matter of weeks.
Christina writes that her realization that she, and everyone she loved, would one day die was at first traumatic. She feels that this experience pushed her further
