Humorous Wedding Speech: Guilty Or Not?
There I stand, in the middle of this gorgeous but extremely terrorizing arena. This is my fate, my love for the princess will be demolished no matter what, i either die or marry another woman on the spot. There are people all around me, all screaming like the barbaric people they are. I see the king, gazing at me with his mean glare, waiting for my choice to determine whether i am guilty or not. Why did it all have to come to this, i only loved my rulers daughter, yes she meant everything to him, but as she did to me as well. I’ve never really agreed with the king’s rules, but now i see how truly barbaric yet amazingly idiotic his ways are. Finally, the crowd dies down and the princess, the love of my life, enters her father's cabin. But there's something different. She seems excited, but worried at the same time. The king says a few words, “ This man has fallen in love with my daughter, and has had an affair with her behind my back, losing my trust,” he says in his booming voice, “ tonight, we shall see if he shall be punished or rewarded, through my famous trial, picking the door.” …show more content…
But, as i've told myself before, being married on the spot would have been good, if i haven't fallen madly in love with the daughter of the one has decided to punish me. Now's the time to choose my fate, shall a open the left door or right door, and which door contains which destiny. Desperate for an answer, i glance up to my beautiful lover. But then i notice, she is looking straight at me as well, and she seems to be trying to tell me something, but what is it. As i look even closer, i see it, he's telling me which gate to choose. Surly she knows best, “ i must let her decide my fate,” i think to

Within this story, the royal family is given distinguishing traits that explain why the princess would choose death upon her lover. Because she is the daughter of a “semi-barbaric king” (Stockton 2), the thought of her companion getting eaten by a tiger might be more accepting than losing him to another woman. The princess’s uncivilized mind would overrule the appropriate decision, and choose the tiger.…

I think that the princess probably would have let her lover die. One soul or not, I don't think she wanted anyone else to have him if she couldn't have him for herself. Also, I say this because the princess loathed and despised the woman behind one of the doors, the woman who, if selected, would marry…

The princess in “The Lady or the Tiger” struggles when determining the youth’s fate either consisting of death or marriage to another beautiful lady as she contemplates “Which [door to open. The answer is] as plain to her as if [the youth] shouted it from where he stood. There was not an instant to be lost. The question [of which door to open] was asked in a flash; it must be answered in another” (Stockton 302). The princess is forced to decide the youth’s fate in a split second. The short amount of time that is taken for her to make her decision suggests that her emotions may have overruled reason and could lead to her regretting her decision later in life. In a single second, lives could be drastically changed. Up until the last moment, the youth, that the princess had loved, believes that she will spare him; he has a blind faith in the princess and trusts in her choices. The king’s daughter’s heart is torn during this point of decision. She must decide whether she would prefer to see the youth dead or with the lady whom she…

Because she is clearly in love with him, she seems to stand firm on her opinion that the thought of another woman being with him is sickening. Finally, the princess believes that it would be less complicated if he were to die so that she may see him again in the afterlife. The princess was repulsive toward the idea of the ‘young man’ being with another woman. Therefore, if he were to die by the hands (or paws; tee hee) of the tiger, then they could be together in the afterlife. Furthermore, it was illegal for a servant/peasant to be in love with the princess; therefore, making the decision easier. If the two lovers cannot be together while they were alive, then they could be together in the afterlife when the two of them had both passed. In conclusion, the princess signaled for the ‘young man’ to open the door with the tiger because: the princess was semi-barbaric and relished in the sight of blood/violence, she was more afraid of seeing the ‘young man’ with another woman, and they could simply be with one another in the afterlife (due to the laws that outlaw all romance between royalty and non-royalty.) So the next person that is to read the shocking story, choose correctly when given the honoring opportunity to select the…

To begin with, I think the princess chose the door with the tiger because she is barbaric. She would probably “want” to see her boyfriend die a rather painful, agonizing death over losing him to another. Secondly, the princess does seem to have “a soul as fervent and imperious as her father’s” (3). I honestly think that she has a heart as devious as her father’s, with that mysterious barbaric urge to see people perish.…

This contributes to her decision. “Would it not be better for him to die at once, and go to wait for her in the blessed regions of semi-barbaric futurity?” --page 6. The princess out of a selfish heart thinks it would be better for her love to die now so she can meet him in the blessed regions. The princess believes that it would be better if she could meet her love in paradise. This shows how selfish she is; she is willing to let him die just so no one else can marry him. The princess’s losses her mind when she imagines the woman’s triumph. “How in her grievous reveries had she gnashed her teeth, and torn her hair, when she saw his start of rapturous delight as he opened the door of the lady!” --page 6. "Daughter of the King" is a moving stage play with an inspiring message of the amazing power of love and the art of self-forgiveness. It is a revamping familiarity of promise and recovery. The script tosses in for all intents and purposes issues that may touch the lives of black women. The sisters expect their usual family infighting and sibling rivalry; however, this year is seemingly different.
