Cold, alone, hungry and nowhere to go, you've been abandoned by everybody you know and love, you’re sitting on the rocky pavement, its about to snow and the only thing covering your body is a piece of thin cloth you are using as a blanket. A car pulls up beside you, the driver has the window rolled down, you’re trying to smile hoping you are saved but the muscular collage boy just rolls up his window, locks the door and drives away. Your time is up, the heat in your body and the hope in your heart has run out.

21 000 people die every day of hunger, yet there is plenty food for everyone in the world, we eat 3 times a day sometimes more, but people living in poverty would be lucky to get a meal once a week, people who suffer from hunger would kill for the food we push aside on our plates. 100 million children are starving right now, and many won’t make it through the night.
Did you know one child dies every 3 seconds, and if it is not hunger that kills them, it is something as simple as a mosquito bite that we curse everyday because we have this horrible red dot that we can’t stop itching, or a common cold that isn't treated and turns into pneumonia, where as we can drive up to the local pharmacy and get the necessary treatment.

Imagine watching your child die, then you die in trying to protect them, that can’t be right. All it will take is a few people to change this, by making a few great decisions. Its not as if people don't know whats going on because its happening right in front of us on the T.V. screens, but we choose not see it because it makes it easier for us to live with if we don’t have to deal with it, we have so many problems already because Jim asked Jane out instead of asking Julie, but you actually like him, so we chose to focus on that instead of focusing on something that would really make a difference to so many people.

The next time you sit down to have a family meal and don't like the vegetables you have to eat, just stop and think about how many people would appreciate the food that you don’t like. I have shut this out for too long and its time i changed my way of seeing things, its time I appreciate things more because something that means nothing to you could mean the world to someone else. Hunger is a serious issue, we can stop out from happening but we don’t. So thats what we have to do tomorrow, be great instead of being ashamed.
