The third person narrative “Hunters in the snow” is the story of three men of Spokane, Washington, going hunting in the heavy Winter. The silent person’s reaction toward vigorous situation is the theme for the story. Tub is the protagonist with beta person Frank. This story is based upon how one alpha person is replaced by another.
On the psychological standpoint, this story has almost everybody’s perception. People change according to time and situations. After Tub shot Kenny, Frank simultaneously changed his subordinate position from Kenny to Tub. He himself believed that favouring Tub would give him a chance to fill his loneliness. Frank was smarter and he took his decision according to time, however, the decision was perfect. Kenny, the first alpha person, had a secret of Frank’s, and Kenny was restricting Frank to stay with him in any situation or he would reveal the secret. On the other side, Tub was totally opposite and the situation was also in a favour of Tub. Kenny was shot and Frank was the only eyewitness, and with mutual understanding, Frank disclosed his secret to Tub and tried to get emotional support. After becoming the new alpha, Tub definitely chose supporting dogma get support.

As long as Frank was supporting Kenny to bully Tub, Kenny was good with Frank. But when he tried to be against that, Kenny suddenly tried to pull up his secret and forgot totally about Frank and his secret of the babysitter.(Wolff, P. 19) Kenny also cannot tolerate a single word against him, nevertheless, all the friends couldn’t find any deer and that made Kenny so enraged that Kenny shot the dog.
