Hushpuppy Movie Analysis

This movie is about a girl name called Hushpuppy and she lives with her father in a bayou community - a bathtub. And the people there having a primitive life. Hushpuppy’s father was sick and dying, but he still strict to Hushpuppy. Her father wants her to learn how to survive even when he is not here anymore. One day, a storm came and broke the village and their home. After that, the villagers who were survived starts to group together and rebuild their homes. But the water didn’t recede, and the dead body of the animals were everywhere. On the other hand, the outside world has already classified this area as a compulsory evacuation area, and the related people enter to the village then forced them to go to the refuge. Under the education of her father, Hushpuppy getting stronger, she learned to understand the world, and face to the challenges.
In my opinion, I think it is a stage of growth. This movie using Hushpuppy’s point of view to show the last struggle of a primitive village. Hushpuppy doesn’t have a mother, and her father doesn’t know how to use words and actions to show his care. Hushpuppy see the bird in the forest how to look for food, and listen to the pig heart to understand the meaning of life. Until the bathtub was flooded, and the animals were dead. People in the village they started to look for the way to survive. Hushpuppy’s father understand that he is dying, so he forces his daughter to be tough. He didn’t allow Hushpuppy to use knife and fork to eat crab. He asks Hushpuppy to use her hands to break the crab and eat it. Father didn’t let Hushpuppy to cry because of fear or sadness. He asks her to be brave and face to every challenge in the
