Ans The challenges faced by Huawei as it ventured into international markets was: * Whether Huawei can replicate its low-end telecom networking success in its high-end technology products and services. * Manufacturing was another challenge faced by Huawei as it became more centralize to decrease unit costs and increase production volumes. * The other challenge was commercialization of the internet, the technological advances and unprecedented level of competition in the industry. * Another challenge is to focus on value-added services and network improvement. * It faces challenges of network security.
The opportunities faced by Huawei as it ventured into international markets: * Expansion in South-American, Southeast Asian and African market. * With its increasing GDP growth rate and double digit growth, Huawei had the opportunity to engine for global economic growth over the next decade. * Opportunity to build a global brand. * Opportunity to invest in global image-building campaign, emphasizing network reliability * Huawei developed a mobile innovation Centre in Sydney, Australia providing opportunity for engineers to develop new wireless and mobile broadband concepts into ready for market products.
The threats faced by Huawei as it ventured into the international market: * Huawei’s threat came from low cost engineering. * Network security was another threat that was expected by service providers and enterprise customers. * Another threat which Huawei had was Cisco’s share in Asian market in routers and switches
