Classiness at its Best Form The fashion world is a curious and elaborate realm that everybody, especially teenagers, wants to be a part of. From avant garde to casual, teenagers try to make a statement by adapting to a style that will make them stand out in a crowd. Of course, in fashion, style differs between every person. In high school, you can see almost every style that the young generation is drawn to. From Gothic punk to boho chic to vintage, the different flairs that teenagers tend to bring up definitely stand out. One of the trends in the teenage society is dressing like a hypebeast. Not all teenagers may be fond of it, actually a majority of teenagers hate it, but that is only because they are oozing jealousy. Hypebeast is a style designed for that few elite in the teenage society. Having this particular style becomes a part of who you are. it not? Well, before accepting who you will want to be, there are a few rules, so to speak, to start you off on the journey of becoming a hypebeast. The first thing you want to do in order to enter the world of a hypebeast is to dress like one. Like the saying goes, you have to dress the part to be the part. Before even going to a store, you must know your brands. Obey, Stussy, Diamond Supply and Co., and Crooks and Castles are only some of the brands that you need to have. And to add on, those are only the brands for your tops. You need to have at least five different tees and button ups from each brand to start off with. Of course as you embrace this new style, you have to add to your collection. Your jeans need to be from Levi’s and only Levi’s. They need to be skinny jeans and khaki. No blue, no black, no white, just khaki. You also need at least seven pairs so start off with and add more later on. A series of jackets are also needed, preferably crewnecks and hoodies. These outerwear pieces also need to come from brands such as Obey, Stussy, Diamond Supply and Co., and Crooks and Castles. To be an even better hypebeast than others, owning five or so different colored Members Only jackets would be the cherry on top of your outfit. Last but not least, you need shoes that will make others drool and envy you even more than they already do. Nikes, particularly Nike SBs, Jordans, Supra, and any other high-end expensive brand will be sufficient enough for your outfit. In the end, the more expensive you go for your outfit, the more of a hypebeast you become. In addition to your clothes and shoes, a set of accessories is also needed to complete our fancy outfit. One of the articles you need is a snapback, preferably a New Era or Obey one. Another accessory you need is a G-Shock watch or Nixon watch in either white or black. You also need a lanyard of a basketball team from either the Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Lakers. Lastly, you will need a Nikon DSLR camera. This last accessory, although very expensive, is one of the most important items you need to complete the image of a hypebeast. The significance of the Nikon DSLR will be explained later one; let us take this one step at a time. With your outfit complete, you have accomplished the first part of becoming a hypebeast. Along with what you decide to wear, you also need to be aware of how you act. One of the things you need to do is to be pompous and arrogant. Take pride in who you are and show it off. Modesty is only for the weak and hopeless. You want people to look up to you and be like you. You want people to hang out with you because they think you are cool and hanging out with you will make them cool. If you see someone come up to you with that hopeful look of hanging out with you, immediately scan him or her and see if he or she fits your standards. If not, immediately give a disgusted look and turn away. Watch the sad and hopeful people walk away with tears in their eyes as you reject them. Another thing you want to do is to walk as if you are constantly strutting on a catwalk. You want to show off your clothes to make everyone jealous of you and, again, praise you. Do not be afraid of people judging you; just be more judgmental to them. Do not be afraid of hurting anyone’s feelings because inside they are all jealous of you. As the saying goes, the truth hurts. Keeping this conceited presumptuous mentality completes yet another step in becoming a hypebeast. Last but not least, there are two activities that you must come to like in order to fully complete the transformation into a hypebeast. If you have come this far and decide to back out, then you are a weakling and have wasted a lot of your time. If you still decide on moving on, then congratulations to you because you are almost there. One of the hobbies you need to get accustomed to is photography. Remember the Nikon DSLR being part of your accessories? This is the reason why it is so important. As a hypebeast, you must bring your DSLR everywhere and take pictures of everything you see; the sky, the ground, people, people taking pictures of other things, and even things you do not feel like taking pictures of, take it. The most important thing to take pictures of is yourself. With an outfit that costs more than $200, you should have no shame in taking thirty to fifty pictures of yourself. It is not considered vanity but appreciation. People need to see how striking and enticing you look with our clothes. After taking pictures, it is crucial that you post them on Tumblr or Instagram and aim for the oncoming flow of likes and followers that will come as soon as viewers see you in your awesome outfit. By posting on blog sites and online photo-sharing and social networking services, the better chances you have of people knowing who you are and being more jealous of you. Along with raising your status from taking pictures, you also need to be musically talented or love to dance. Part of being a hypebeast is having that artistic sense in you. Not the watercolor drawing stuff that artists like Picasso do, but the singing and dancing like Chris Brown or Usher do. Part of being musically talented is to know how to sing and play the ukulele. If you do not know how to play the ukulele, then learn from YouTube or a friend because without it you will not be close to being considered a hypebeast. As for the singing, if you have no sense of vocal talent, then get lessons, force yourself to sing, do anything you need to do to be able to sing. In addition to the instrument playing and singing, dancing is a critical part in the image. You need to take inspiration from people like the Jabbawockeez, Quest Crew, and Mos Wanted Crew. You need to take their classes that are around $50 per class and make sure to retain every dance move they produce and teach. The better you are at dancing, singing, playing an instrument, and taking pictures, the higher your reputation as a hypebeast goes up. Becoming a hypebeast is an expensive process that everyone desires.
Having the most swag, which is the way someone presents himself or herself in a cool way, is what everybody choses to aim for and what hypebeasts acquire. Owning the most stylish clothes and accessories, being egotistical, and taking pictures of everything is what a hypebeast lives for. It is obviously not for every teenager because some cannot handle the pressure of being praised and adored.
