I Am Francisco Pzarro Book Report
Hola! I am Francisco Pizarro! You may know me as the explorer to destroy the Inca empire and found Peru’s capital, Lima. I was born in 1476 in Trujillo, Spain to a poor family. My parents did not pay much attention to me, and I had an incomplete education because I spent most of the time herding pigs! I didn't even know how to read! Now that I think about it, I had a horrible childhood. But I was a curious boy, hearing stories of the new world. In 1510, I decided to go on an adventure. I joined Alonzo de Ojeda on a voyage to Uraba, Colombia. Our voyage was unfruitful, but I had some experience in exploring.

Once again in 1513 I joined Vasco Nunez de Balboa. As we marched across the Isthmus of Panama, Balboa spied the Pacific Ocean. After this, I gained a small amount of wealth and became the mayor of Panama City. I was becoming quite the gentlemen now! I had money, fame, and experience on the sea! The incas were torn in a civil war to see who would become king next. Atahualpa, son of the former king, killed his half brother in order to become king. Atahualpa angrily refused, and my men attacked. The incan soldiers were no match for our guns. We held Atahualpa for ransom, and the incas promised a whole room full of silver and gold. After we received the gold, we killed Atahualpa anyway and destroyed the incan empire. Some people call me evil, but I was just following

Intro: The discovery of the “New World” is portrayed as a wonderful time by almost all Americans on Columbus Day each and every year. If people knew the true story about what really happened as accounted by Bartolome de Las Casas then there would be less celebrating and realization that we, as people, are idolizing a false hero. The brutal awakening portrayed by de Las Casas in his account allows us to see what really happened in the Indies and prove why Columbus and other explorers aren’t the…

Three years later, he founded the new capital city of Lima. As a result, conquistadors were torn into two factions-one run by Pizarro, and the other by his former associate, Diego Almagro. Almagro engaged Pizarro and his brothers in the Battle of Las Salinas. Upon the Pizarro brothers' victory, in 1538, Hernando Pizarro captured and executed Almagro. On June 26, 1541, in Lima, Peru, members of the defeated party avenged Almagro's death by assassinating Francisco Pizarro. In 1532, explorer Francisco Pizarro made de Soto second in command on Pizarro's expedition to explore and conquer Peru. He was an explorer, a navigator, and a colonizer and, with his unrelenting determination, he would be the man to “discover” the New World. Although he thought that he found India and a better route to Asia rather than sailing around the southern tip of Africa, he had really stumbled upon the Americas. While he may have had the actual location wrong, his accidental discovery has effectively changed the timeline of human existence greatly, and has helped shape the world as we know it into what it is today.…

I was born in 1457, Jerez de los Caballeros, Mexico. I am a Spanish explorer. As a young boy I had two dreams: to become a famous explorer and to be an Olympic fencing champion. My Olympic dream never materialized. After I became big I went on an expedition to South America in 1501. One year later I myself found one island of Hispaniola. Several years later, in 1510, I enjoyed the change in fortune when I became acting governor of Darien. From there I led an expedition to Panama Some Indians told me that the land was located across the mountains near the great sea. When I approached Panama I spotted the great sea that I longed to see: The Pacific Ocean! Sadly I lived only a few more years on January 1519, I was sentenced to death. Long time back all explorers had no technology so they don’t know where they are going but I didn’t let my exploration be a failure so I took a compass to see the directions and an astrolabe to look at the position of the stars and know where I am going.…
