“Ballad of Birmingham” is a poem written by Dudley Randall about the bombing of a church in Birmingham. This poem shows us what happens to a mother’s little girl because someone didn’t like the changes that were happening in America when African American people wanted equal rights. Only the little girl wanted to protest because she wanted a better future for America. She aspired to be someone important when she grew older, not wanting to be treated differently because color of her skin.
