After all some inmates are there for life, so they will test your patience. You being the new kid on the block mean that they will try to make you or break you. Just stay strong. Do not show emotion because if you show you are weak you are in the wrong job. The inmates will try to show you that they are the boss and you will do what they say. You have to be firm and understanding. I was told working in a correctional facility sometimes is like working with kids who just don’t take “no” for an answer. You have to be patient with them. They are new to you like you are to them. You will know how to treat everyone with the proper respect once you receive your training at the facility you will be working at. After all we all start
