I Want To Play Basketball
I like to play basketball. I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. I learned how to play basketball from watching my older brother and cousin play the game. As I am walking into the gym to warm up before my game all I hear is the crowd screaming and cheering. During warm ups my stomach get butterflies and I start to sweat. My butterflies do not go away until I hear the referees blow their whistle to start the game. The crowd calms down and the players go out on the court to start the game with a jump ball. During the game you can barely hear the ball bouncing or it going in the rim because the crowd is cheering the whole game. The gym gets real hot and you can smell the players sweat when you walk by them. At the end of

Even if I didn't win, my coaches alway said "You can't win, unless you learn how to lose." When I was in 5th grade my brother inspired me to do that. I…

A memory from my athletics that will stick with me forever was the last time I was able to lace up and play basketball on our home court. We played a long time rival, Aquin. The game was down to the wire and I was able to tie the game with 24 seconds left. Then we got the ball back and Ellie was fouled with about a second left, which if anyone on our team were to be put on the line, I would choose her. She went up and swooshed the first shot! Then, since Aquin wouldn't be able to get the rebound, make it down the court, and shoot with the time left, coach told her to miss the second shot. Ellie then winded up and chucked the ball right off the backboard so they ended up getting the ball out of bounds anyway. We blocked the throw in, and I ran…

I have always love to play basketball. The swish when you make it just right, and the boom of the basketball hitting the floor “are sounds I love”. When I first started playing basketball, my mom and my couch Richard knew that I was expectational. I played with Richard for a few years, then one day he told us about this newspaper ad he saw for a team named “Eugene Fire”. My mom decided to check it out, so she called the coach, Jim. He said I probably won't make the team, but I believed I could. So I would try anyways.…

Hearing the crowd scream as the stunt hits gets the adrenaline pumping to push through the routine and fight for the stunts. Can you guess what “sport” is being talked about? Well it’s cheerleading. Yes cheerleading is really a sport even though many people will argue it.
