Professional Relationships
For the past several years, I have worked for William Paterson University as a Professor In Residence. As such, I was contracted as a consultant in schools that paid for our services. I needed to establish myself in each school and develop a good rapport with my clients. It was important that I create relationships that were friendly yet professional.
Long-term and varied placements

This is very similar to the IDE model. We used our time for professional development and to share what successes we were having in schools. This was a valuable time to learn from one another and find new ways to be of service to the schools in which we were placed.
Collaborative Partnerships
I have needed to work collaboratively throughout my career. I taught with a team of teachers when I taught middle school science. Most of my technology lessons for the upper grades at Academy of St. Francis were based on lessons used by classroom teachers. We needed to work closely together to create the lessons and make sure they addressed all student needs.
What I expect to gain
I want to continue to have an influence in the way students are educated. I get gratification working closely with teachers and helping them learn and incorporate new technologies. The only reason I am looking to leave my position as a Professor In Residence is that my financial situation has changed. I can no longer afford to work at the rate of a contractor and need to seek full time employment. I feel working at IDE can help me meet both of these needs. I can continue the work I love and still make the wages necessary for my
