As added hatred toward Othello, he believes that Othello has slept with his wife Emilia. Iago knows that Cassio is naive and loyal, he intends to manipulate Cassio to help his scheme. Iago’s true nature of wanting revenge is starting to move in full motion here. He is not concerned if he hurts Desdemona or Cassio because wanting his revenge is more important. It is not his concern whether it is true or not about the rumors of Othello sleeping with his wife. In truth, Iago does not love his wife, he is incapable of love at this point. In today’s society, he would be considered a narcissistic sociopath, there is not a definite answer as to why Iago is the way he is. Shallow is who Iago is. Another character that suffers because of his treacherous acts, is Roderigo. Iago manipulates his feelings for Desdemona and used his money for profit instead of for Desdemona. Iago ends up killing is partner by stabbing him. His character shows no happiness or love throughout the story. His primary goal is to cause misery and strife to Othello. Though Othello is a good hearted person, he let his jealousy rage like Iago’s, this pleases Iago. Othello kills Desdemona in her bed because of the lies Iago created. Othello is so grief stricken when he learns the truth that his wife was never unfaithful, he stabs Iago and kills himself. Misery loves company and revenge is best served cold are the traits Iago lives by. Brabantio, Desdemona father was grief stricken when he learned of Othello and Desdemona eloping, but past away from the grief before finding out Othello killed her. His death is the only act that Iago did not get to fulfill all of his revenge of knowing his daughter had died. This terrible character kills his wife Emilia for telling the truth about his plans and holds no remorse. Emilia dies clearing her friends name that Desdemona was not a whore and was proud to do so. It is left up to Cassio to take him out, which is left to the
