Jealous is one of Iago's important character trait that causes Iago's jealousy of Othello giving Cassio the title of being Othello's ensign. Iago spends all night ranting to Roderigo about Othello and his choice of Cassio taking power of the ensign position. "I know my price, I am worth no worse a place." (Act 1. Scene 1. Lines 11.) This quotation supports my point of view because Iago was bragging about himself and say he's better than Cassio and Iago deserves more of the position than Cassio. This caused Iago to create a plan of revenge to Othello out of Jealously.
Betrayal is one of Iago's important character trait that causes Iago to betrayal everyone making Iago look like a trustworthy good man in everyone's eyes. "She did deceive her father, marrying you, And when she seemed to shake and fear your looks, She loved them most." (Act 3. Scene 3. Lines 210-212.) My quotation supports my point because Iago makes Othello think Desdemona used her father too like how Desdemona doing to Othello saying she wants to marry Othello because she does love Othello. This makes Iago character powerful to finally manipulate Othello, and make Othello plan on murdering his wife Desdemona and his ensign
