Data: quantitative
The data below is the raw data collected during the lab to test the photosynthetic rate of five different .75% colored bicarbonate solutions.

Time taken for three spinach leaf disks to rise to the top of .75% bicarbonate solution
(measured in minutes)
Uncertainty +/- 10 seconds
Uncertainty +/- 10 seconds

Qualitative:
This data is a record of the physical reactions or visual observations during the lab * Some of the leaf disks are not cut properly * Blue solution is very dark * Red solution is almost clear * Yellow and green look to be right on transparency wise
Averages:
Below is a set of the calculated averages for each colored solution

Color | Average time (minutes) | clear | 8:23 | red | 3:56 | yellow | 4:10 | green | 12:34 | blue | 6:21 |

Standard Deviation
Included in the graph below are the standard deviations for each color, which indicate the spread from the mean. Color | Standard deviation | clear | 1.041139 | red | 2.06425 | yellow | .480541 | green | 5.539233 | blue | 3.119591 |

Range:
In the table below are all the ranges for each set of data Color | Range (minutes) | clear | 3:15 | red | 5:23 | yellow | 1:12 | green | 14:02 | blue | 7:38 |

of dialysis tubing, 25 mL of sucrose solutions with concentrations of 0.02 Molar, 0.04M, 0.06M, 0.08M, 1.0M, as well as 25mL of distilled water, six 250 mL beakers, a balance, and paper towels. We first cut the dialysis tubing into 6 pieces, each 1ft. long, and placed them into a beaker of water. We then tied off the dialysis tubing and poured 25 mL of distilled water in. We repeated this with the rest of the five pieces dialysis tubing, pouring a different molarity of sucrose solution in different dialysis tubes. After all the tubes were filled and tied, we then dried the bags and weigh each one on the scale. After all the data was recorded, we filled all the beakers about ¾ full of distilled water, placed the bags into each beaker in unison, and waited 30 minutes. Next, the bags were removed from the beakers, dried, and weighed separately. We expected the mass to increase with increasing molarity because with the higher the concentrations, more water would need to be diffused into the bag to reach…

First place a small amount of the spinach provided in the mortar, just enough to cover its bottom; combined with the sand provided to break down the call walls. A 1:1 mixture of hexane and acetone was determined to best solvent for this extraction. Knowing this add one mL of the pure hexane and one mL of the pure acetone to the mortar. Grind the contents until the cell walls have been adequately broken. Transfer the mixture to a centrifuge tube to separate the sample into layers, to help remove the water. Once the sample is finished spinning extract the organic layer and place in a test tube.…

For this experiment we have prepared to water baths. One bath is ice water, around 10 degrees Celsius, the other warm, around 25 degrees Celsius. Both water baths will contain three respirometers. One with 25 germinated peas the volume measured in ml., one with the same number of peas with glass beads added to attain the same volume, and one with only glass beads to the volume of the other two. Added to the respirometers will be KOH(potassium hydroxide) to selectively remove any carbon dioxide produced with the consumption of oxygen. The three respirometers will be submerged in each bath and allowed to…
