The cast suited well with the characters, I personally thought that Pia Miranda portrayed Josephine very well. The way she acts with excitement and humour, is outstanding and I personally think that she is a gifted actress. The rest of the cast were pleasing to watch, and were also competent at acting.…
Robert Duvall did an excellent job playing the role as Bull Meecham- or the ‘Great Santini’. He has a very tough love relationship with his family. Then there was Blythe Danner who plays Lillian; she also did an fantastic job with her character. Even though in the book she had red hair, and in the movie she was a blonde, they displayed her as the same woman who has a big heart, and has to help her family get through hard times with him. Last but not least Michael O’Keefe was my favourite character; I was most impressed by his performance in the movie matching so carefully the character in the book. There was a character in the movie that they had left out though- it was Sam Wertzberger, I thought he would have been a great addition to the movie especially because he was such an important character- he showed that people would discriminate against religion. Having Stan Shaw, as Toomer Small in the movie was good because Toomer’s character and what he went through showed how injustice racism…
The acting in this play was great. The actor I was looking most forward to was Brooke Shields. Honestly don’t think that she was that great. It could have just been the character of Morticia, but after it was all over I felt like she stood out the least. To be fare it could have just been that she was having a bad night though because when she was handing out autographs after the play she apologized for not doing well. The other star, Roger Rees, was pretty good. He definitely was not my favorite part of the show, but he did a good job playing Gomez. He was somewhat dry, but he had enough to keep him memorable. Adam Riegler was the young boy who played Pugsley. He did an outstanding job and unfortunately wasn’t a huge part of the show. I would have liked it if they had involved him in a few more scenes. The best part of the show was definitely Rachel Potter in the role of Wednesday. She blew everyone else out of the water in terms of her acting and singing. She was the true star of the show in my opinion. The way she acted really made the audience want things to work for her and the character Lucas. The actors Heide Blickenstaff and Adam Grupper did a good job in the role of Lucas’ parents. I feel that they did there job in being good character foils to Gomez and Morticia. Jesse Swenson was another actor that I thought did great. He played Wednesdays love interest Lucas. He did a fantastic job and was almost as good as Rachel Potter. Another role which I was disappointed in was Brad Oscar…
The characters name is Isabel Fuentes. Her character became my favorite because of the kind of person she is. I like her personality of being vocal about her feelings. She is frank of whatever she wants to tell. At the same time her character had shown sweetness, care and love to her partner, Alex Whitman. Isabel Fuentes had shown courage to show how she feels for the person. I was also amazed of how the actress, Salma Hayek played the role. The role was very suited to her and she played it very well.…
Although Claire was the main character, the actor who played Millet had the best acting on stage. They way he switch between the two personality was amazing and hilarious. He portrayed the character really well and had me believing for a bit that he actually had a dual personality. His entrance on to the stage in every scene was perfect, every time he can on he was really enthusiastic and his enthusiasm did not fluctuate too much in the play, even though he was not playing one but two characters.…
I never have seen a play with an all women cast, and these actresses worked well together and made the play enjoyable to watch. There was Trudy, which was my favorite actress, as the typical redneck hair stylist. She was the character that I related to the most. She was always up to date with the latest gossip and knew everything going on in her small town. Whitney Allen did a great job playing Trudy, and had everything down from the look to the voice. Another character that I enjoyed was Clairee; she was the typical rich and nosey woman. It was evident that she did not go into the beauty shop to get her hair done; however, she went to be around friends and to catch up on the latest gossip. I absolutely loved Shelby! She was so cute and I could relate so much to her. I think that Meghan Collins played the perfect Shelby. She helped me to understand how Shelby was at heart and helped me to understand the character. The only character I was not too fond of was M'Lynn. She reminded me of my mom, always trying to pick fights with her daughter. When Shelby expressed how she was going to have a baby and how happy she was, she yelled at her. Instead, I think she should have been a supportive mom and backed her daughter up in any decision that she had. The way the actresses acted helped to relate to my next point, which was the audience…
The acting was also very well done, it is evident that a lot of hours of rehearsal were put into the production. One performance that deserves mention is Clinton Brandhagen as…
My favorite character in the play was Georgie witch was performed by Natalie Morales. This was my favorite because she performed her part more on point than any of the other characters while having the most lines. Another reason why she was my favorite of the characters in the play is because she played the role of Georgie with the most credibility. For example she was the street girl from Brooklyn, New York and she played her part like if she was an actual Brooklyn girl it looked like she wasn't even acting the other characters didn't look as natural as she did. The effortless credibility was not the only advantage that she had over the other characters; her body language was also something that it looked like she put most of her effort into but made it looked as if she was natural.…
There were some things that I didn’t like about the play. One of the characters portrayed a rebellious girl who wore dark clothes and heavy makeup. She was the one who was hooking up with the professor and her friend. She kept blinking her eyes too much and moving her head to try to look as if she was being seductive. I understand that in order to portray a seductive character some of those gestures would work well. I think the actor over did it, and I found it distracting to watch her keep doing the robotic gestures even when…
Rebecca Nurse though she was not the main character she dealt a very big part within the play.…
Who is your least favorite character? Why? If you could pick a celebrity that best personifies this character, who would it be? Why? Give examples from the play.…
George Gibbs, played by Ben Fox, and Emily Webb, played by Maggie Lacey, really had to bend the different polls of acting. They played the part of two kids falling in love, yet also acting out a piece of heartbreak and loss. I personally liked the part where Emily has her doubts about marrying George. It takes out the fairytale feel and really brings out the truth of the immensity of meaning to marrying someone. The two actors really put you apart of their life and make it believable.…
Having so many characters have different behaviors makes for a challenging play thought to have violence and possibly death involved. Abby says, “‘But we never conjured spirits’” which is ironic since they were dancing in the forest naked (Miller 463). In The Crucible the entire story they are trying to figure out if the people were convicted of witchcraft. Mrs. Puttnam…
My first point is the three witches only come out during certain parts of the play. The witches come out during the parts of the play when something important is about to happen or a tragedy awaits. They come out when the play changes like the weather or there's a new scene. "double, double, toil and trouble fire burn and caldron bubble." That is a example of a new scene that is about to happen it mainly shows foreshadowing and hints to what is about to happen. This shows people that when the witches come out, there is something good or bad that is going to happen.…
