To begin with, I will introduce some main situation in the novel. Shelby, who is the slave owner of Kentucky, failed to speculate in the stock market and decided to sell two slaves to pay off his debts. One was Tom, who was born in the plantation of Shelby. He is loyal to his master. The other slave to sell was Eliza, the son of a black and white slave girl, Harry. Eliza advocates freedom. She wished she had the right to be free. Although Eva is very young, but she has a kind heart, she takes care of his slaves. Eva's desire to die is to free the slaves. I think she is a great character in this book.
"Uncle Tom's cabin" describes not only the performance and the character of the black slaves, but also the different types of slave owners.
